Dry Risers & Wet Risers

Servicing and maintenance of dry risers and wet risers.

All dry fire mains/dry risers should be checked every six months to ensure that all valves are fully serviceable, and a wet pressure test should be carried out annually to ensure that there is no leakage.

Wet fire mains should be similarly checked and, in addition, the water storage tanks and booster pumps should be checked for operational serviceability.

Defects in equipment should be rectified as soon as possible by a competent person and if delay ensues, the fire service should be warned, and warning notices should be posted in the building at the appropriate place. The fire service should be informed as soon as the equipment is deemed serviceable again.

We hydraulically pressure test our installations once completed in accordance to the new standard BS 9990:2006. Our client will be then issued with a test certificate and a completion certificate. If we are servicing we will also issue a test certificate and a remedial works sheet if we find anything wrong with the system.

Dry Rising Mains

Inlets, landing valves, drain valves, door hinges and locking arrangements to the Inlet and landing valve cabinets should be inspected every 6 months, pressure tested once a year. Special attention should be given to all valves, spindles glands and washers to ensure that they are in satisfactory condition, so that all equipment is ready for immediate use.
